Ebuild borrowed from Sunrise overlay and modified.
Added patch to make it compile with libnotify 0.7 too.
The patch code taken and adapted from commit 6c7b039 for
x11-plugins/pidgin-libnotify in sabayon overlay.
A collection of patches submitted to the (dead?) upstream, this ebuild can be
removed once the packages are merged upstream (if ever)

A version of the same patch on SF to use what libpurple thinks is the most
appropriate name rather than its own logic, fixed to work with 0.14
I've updated the source location and homepage for this ebuild.
Apparently, the original gdesklets project died. Some people
have been trying to pick up the project. This particular package
is not being maintained at the moment, and is a archived copy
kept at http://www.gdesklets.info/archive/.
I've confirmed the check sums for the tarball stored at this
location match the original check sums.
For now, the package continues to build OK. If bugs develop,
we'll have to decide to adopt the package, or kick it to the curb.
I've also marked the package as "~amd64" based on James Cook's
feedback that it builds OK at least on his installation.
Added a new ebuild for x11-plugins/desklet-gauges=0.52.
Ebuild was provided directly from the Sunrise overlay.
