<div class="Body"><a name="1127526">For drive installation, refer to the instructions that came with your enclosure. </a>If you are installing drives in a computer case, follow the manufacturer’s instructions.</div>

<div class="Heading3"><a name="1127537">Configure a RAID Unit</a></div>
|
||
<div class="Body"><a name="1127554">If you want to install the operating system on and boot from a drive managed </a>through the new 3ware RAID controller, use the 3ware BIOS Manager (3BM) to define the configuration. Follow the instructions for initial installation in <span class="Emphasis">3ware SATA+SAS RAID Controller Card Software Users Guide, Version </span><span class="Emphasis">10.02</span>.</div>
|

<div class="Body"><a name="1127561">If the operating system is already installed on another drive in your system, </a>you can configure units through 3BM, through 3ware Disk Manager (3DM2), or through the Command Line Interface (CLI). If you want to use 3DM2 or the CLI for configuration, go ahead and boot to the operating system, install the driver and the 3DM2 software, and then configure your units. You may want to refer to the following information:</div>
